Hi all. I've been using 5mg generic Proscar (tiny little pill- too small to quarter, I've been splitting it and taking 2.5 mg daily) for a couple months now, too soon to judge results (I don't know if the baby hairs in what used to be my widow's peak are coming or going- waiting at least a year to judge), but ANYway, my question is actually about physically taking the pill.
I have trouble swallowing even a very small pill, and I'm never confident the pill isn't caught in my throat. The directions seem to indicate one can crush Proscar (ie, it's not a delayed release pill or anything- and the coating/don't crush warnings are due solely to its danger to pregnant women), and I'm wondering if anyone here has done so and mixed it with food and had success. I want to crush it and take it with a spoonful of apple sauce then chase it with a glass of water, but I won't do so unless I'm confident I wouldn't be wasting the pill or diluting it or otherwise making it less effective. Any opinions? I'd appreciate the help.
