proscar in sixths

I've read that the difference between 1/2 a mg and 1 mg is slight to none, is this true? If so, would it then be easier to split a proscar pill into sixths and take slightly less then 1 mg; I unfortunitly can't say I've seen how big the pills are, but it just seems logical that it could be split into sixths rather then fifths, and cheaper than spliting into fourths. would it be a good Idea to stretch out the savings that much more?

I read that people have trouble splitting it into 5ths so most split it into 4ths....6ths might be tough

It's pretty small, so quartering it is the ideal imo. You lose a bit as well when you do it, so it's probably just above the usual 1 mg you get.
