Proscar (Finscar) Cutting

For the guys out there that are buying Proscar and cutting it up into fourths or fifths, how difficult of a process is this? It’s clearly a much cheaper option to go with, but I’m concerned about the cutting aspect, and whether or not I’d get it cut down to the right amount or not. Please let me know any details on this process.

I buy generic finasteride and cut the pill in 5th. It is not an exact science, and as I understand you don't need to cut it in 5th precisely. If you get approximately 1mg a day, you should be fine.

I cut mine a little bit off center down the middle, then cut the smaller half in two and the larger half in three.

Don't ask me about results yet, since I have only been using finasteride for about 3-4 months.

Very easy first split it in half then take the two halves and split them.

Fourths are a lot easier to judge than fifths. Just cut it in half, then halve the halfs. I'd spend the five bucks and get a pill splitter. It's not worth worrying about.

Here ya go! I used to do 5ths but now I just do 4ths. If you do 5ths and they're not all the same size it doesn't really matter. As long as you're getting close to 1mg per day you're good to go.
