You can get proscar at qhi.co.uk and just cut the pills up. Don't think they do actual propecia.

inhousedrugstore.co.uk do propecia brand name and generic.

http://www.qhi.co.uk

save your sorry *** some coin and buy Proscar which contains 5mg of finasteride (Propecia contains 1mg of finasteride) then chop these 5mg Proscar pills in to 4 or 5 parts and take one a day.

Both Proscar and Propecia are made by Merck and are identical drugs (except for the dose size)

I've just bought some from http://www.inhousepharmacy.co.uk/ as with http://www.qhi.co.uk you have to fill in a waiver and post it to them before they will accept you as a customer.

This is the first time I am trying finasteride so I have gone for one box of Propecia first to test it out and see if I get any sides. If I don't then I will shell out for Proscar next time.

im in the uk and i get mine from boots on a prescription. I would recommned that you see your doctor so atleast he knows what you are taking. I also get tests done ever 6 months to make sure im not having any side effects. My surgery usually allows me to get 3 month repeat prescription and its costs me a total of about £109 for the 3 month supply.

Hi latecomer

I've been to the Doctor and he said there was nothing he could do for me - maybe i'll try again - i am booked in for some blood tests and a liver f'ntion test before i start popping them.

I assume you are prescribed it for hair loss yes?

My doctor was also pretty much useless. I'm just going to give Propecia a go and see if I get any initial side effects. I'm still in two minds about it though. I love my hair but I don't really want to mess with my hormones. Whatever anyone says, reducing your testosterone levels over long periods can't be good for you.

yeh i am. my doctor keeps changing and i basically know more about it than them. I tell them i want to take propecia and am aware of the sides. Thats why i do 6 month blood tests and check for other sides such as gyno. i think the only side effect i have is weight gain! i recenlty had my tests done after 9 months on propecia and my hormone levels were normal so the dr prescribed me propecia again. i think they are more concerned about people thinking that it is some miracle cure and don't understand the risks that ome with it. so far i wouldn't say its helped me much but i have hope as i see a few hairs on my hairline that weren't there this time last year!!

That is very expensive, Merck brand finasteride can be bought for as little as £31 for 5 months supply (at 1mg / day).

I have only just ordered from them for the first time tonight but I believe http://www.inhousepharmacy.co.uk/ also sell the genuine article and unlike QHI you don't have to send anything through the mail to become a customer with them first.

You can print out the discalimer form from the QHI website, sign it and fax it to them, takes ten minutes.

Finasteride doesnt reduce testosterone levels, it increases it. However the post-increase level is still regarded as within the normal range.

As Global says, finasteride increases testosterone levels by firstly converting less testosterone into dihyrotestoterone and secondly by unregulating the production of testosterone.

Thanks for clearing that up, I really should do more research before spouting off! I have now started to learn more about it seeing that I am actually going to be ingesting the stuff soon.
