I am new to the board and would like to introduce myself I go by JP. You guys have a great board as I have surfed and researched for about a year now. I do have a problem though and thought maybe you guys could help me out.

So I just started my Propecia about two months ago and read all about shedding and everything else. My problem is that Merck and everyone will tell you that it is not designed to help hairloss on the temple region. However my shedding has mainly happened on my right temple region and it is basically completely bald where when I first started it was just thin looking. Now my question is if Propecia does not promote regrowth on the temple region but shedding can occur there why would anyone take it? Is the hair I lost on my temple region due to shedding on my temple going to come back or is it just gone now? I am not sure if there is really even an answer for this but I thought it would be a good topic to discuss as well. Any opinions are greatly appreciated.

Thanks JP

yes, the hair that you shed should grow back.

and propecia can be quite effective on the temples. though, those on this board who report decent temple regrowth from propecia are generally those with low norwoods who caught their hairloss early.

Propecia can help in both the frontal and tempal areas. I posted a study confirming this not so long back. Plus I have vellus regrowth on my temples!
