If a woman takes Propecia, she risks delivering a baby with defects. What types of defects besides ambiguous sex organ?

If she stops taking Propecia, at what point is the level in her systems depleted enough so as to not cause harm to the child?

I am just curious, and I am sure no woman takes Propecia.

Has any man here had a healthy baby while on Propecia? Seems hard to believe that it causes no problems.

I don't know how fast women's livers metabolize finasteride. So who knows how long it would take to get it out of their system. A week? If she is thinking of having kids, she would be wise to go a lot longer than that without finasteride. And hopefully she does not conceive of one without realizing it.

As for men, finasteride is out of our system very fast. Like hours. Almost undetectable in 24 hours. The reason DHT levels stay low for a while is all the 5ar2 is gone, and takes time to rebuild up. Our DHT levels are low for a while, but the finasteride is gone fast. Even if we had sex right after taking a pill, the finasteride is diluted through our whole body. The volume of semen that goes into the woman is less than 0.1% of our mass. But Merk has to tell men to wait 30 days just to absolutely make sure no one can sue them. Juries like to reward frivolous law suits. That said, I'll cover my own butt too and say 30 days, though I will not skip a day when I have mine.

Some doctors prescribe it to post menopause women. But they better be monitored by a doctor when they do it.

Doctor said you have to be off it for about 7 months before you conceive, or try to?

Kind of crap really, It basicall means that all the work you've done while taking will disappear while waiting for those 7 months?

true there are some occasions where finasteride can be used by women

but no women can use finasteride and conceive a child , i thought thats what this post is about

as far as waiting 7 months for a man to conceive a child, seems pretty far fetched for me

my Doctor said i would have no trouble producing a child while using finasteride
