Propecia and Gyno

If you get side-effects from Propecia, do you think that it is worth it to get the gyno and then have surgery? Is your hair worth that much to you?

Or do you try to control the sides with other drugs?

Taking into account that topicals are NOT an option.

For the millionth time (this thread should be stickied) propecia sides are easily prevented/cured.

Gyno - Nolva/Evista/Clomid or AI's like Aromasin/Femara

The first group will bind to estrogen receptors in breat tissue preventing estrogen doing so. The second largely block the formation of estrogen in the first place (many bodybuilders use them to stop gyno/water retention on cycle).

Sexual Effects - Any combination of either bromocriptine/Cabergoline with maybe v****/Cialis/Levitra/Kamagra gel. As a bonus the first two will largely take care of gyno.

Once you know that the question about surgery is moot.

Btw if anyone wants references on the action of these drugs I will post them if thi sthread is made a sticky. Otherwise it is just gonna be a case of posting the same old studies week after week.

ONE LAST TIME - Propecia's side effects are NOT incurable. Apart from maybe reduced DHT and so less aggression.

Are you absolutely sure that they are all reversible. I have been off propecia for two months and my libido is still shot, I have a super low sperm count and my testicles have shrunk a third. Im getting really scared.

Never mind failing to get libido restored while off but the above reccomendations work even while on propecia.

I would run a course of pregnyl (HCG). This is standard therapy to help restore testicular function when test/sperm production is low. Expect a big increase in libido. This should be combined with a SERM like Nolvadex?clomid or even better Evista (Raloxifene) or Tomerifene which are both newer and reckoned to be better.

Here is some very good thread for info on this class of drugs and how they pertain to gyno:

Here's more info

You really need to read the threads but I would concur that for maximum gyno fighting a combo of Evista or Nolvadex, along with aromasin or femara and then definitely cabergoline is your best bet (imo). Anyway that thread has lots of great info especially the links posted by Adrian Smith.

thanks, I really appreciate all your info.

so pregnyl is a drug that i need to start my balls up again? i read that you need to inject it into your muscle and that it only should be done under adoctors close supervision.

has anyone tried this before. sounds like its pretty dangerous.

why do you think propecia made you infertile? there is absolutely no evidence that it would do so. finasteride has neither lowered your sperm count nor shrunk your balls. neither of these side effects have ever been reported in the 14 years finasteride has been on the market, nor from any of the thousands of studies conducted using finasteride.

"A recent paper studying the effects of 1 mg of finasteride (propecia- for male pattern baldness) showed no negative effects on sperm quality." from http://www.resolve.org/site/PageServer? ... lrn_jfm_pm

when i am able to ejaculate, barely anything comes out and whatever comes out is almost pure clear fluid. my testicles are noticably smaller and less sensitive.

Well, finasteride can shrink the prostate, but it's usually in the high doses (Proscar 5mg) AFAIK. Could it just be the natural process of aging that's taking its toll?

is there a difference between sperm quality and count?

i hope this isnt just the affects of aging, im 25, and remember vividly when i had a crazy sex drive a little over a year ago. I realize i need to see a doctor and i dont want to alarm anyone unnecessarily. but this is a big problem for me right now. i really dont want to lose any more hair, propecia has not been all that effective for me thus far but i would rather take it than not. i just dont want to do permanent damage at my age.

Oh, OK. I'm 26 and haven't experienced any of the problems you described. Try lowering your dosage of finasteride to 0.5mg per day to see if that helps.

I don't think Propecia causes small-balls, but I know for sure eating bananas makes your penis 200% longer.

Joe.

i was taking dutasteride for a while too. i think that the higher testosterone levels over a prolonged period cause my testicles to partially shut down.
