Propecia and cholesterol

I'm currently 35 years old and thinking of starting propecia but am afraid of its effect on cholesterol.

My cholesterol has reached a level where my doctor has instructed me to start medication to lower it, but my hair loss is also a concern right now. I'm just afraid that propecia might worsen my cholesterol and taking propecia and the cholesterol medication might lead to complications.

Any fellow "sufferers" out there care to share on this?

Wouldnt asking your doctor who would prescribe you the cholesterol lowering medication be a better source for answers? I have not heard of any relationship between propecia and cholesterol so it should not matter but again professionals are the experts.

My doctor says to treat the cholesterol first then only start propecia. I do not know if I can wait that long.......my hair would shed even more once I start the cholesterol medication as it is known to cause hair loss.

Now I need to hear feedback from anyone who is taking both cholesterol medication and propecia or from those who are experiencing negative effects on their cholesterol due to propecia. Find that doctors would rather give conservative advice than risk their patients taking them to task should unexpected complications arise.
