Wondering as I've seen no results and i've not going to order anymore minoxidil when my last 2 bottles run out. I know people say it could have been maintaining but no way, my hair is falling out way too quick for any maintainance (faster then ever thought possible), started 10months ago when my temples were thinning slightly but no real problem and now. my poor hair, I know its probably just really aggressive male pattern baldness but still this is not helping. Also ordered Dutas and topical spironolactone and msm and will be stopping procepia when they arrive. I've finally taken a Photo of my hair now and i've got one of it from only 3months ago, I'll post them when I can and show you how fast my hair is falling out. Also I'll start taking photos when I start my new regimen and will see how it goes].

Also wondering something - I apply my minxidil at 5am and for the last few months generally a few hours later and then again around noon I can literally fell my hair shedding, well it feels really weird, esp around hairline. this is only been happening for the past 2 months or so - Does anybody know what is causing this?

Well I think you're doing the right thing. Get on dutasteride and a topical dht blocker. If you can add a copper peptide.

thanks - what about giving up the minoxidil. Its been 10months and will be 12 before I give up but unless something happens in the next 2 which i sincerely doubt its gone. I dont know what this tingling sensation is but considering the rate my hair is going I think i've been in a constant shed for the past few months. The only reason why i'm toughing it out is in hope that the tiny white hairs on my hairline actually turn into terminal hairs, but it seems just lose lose lose shed shed shed.

Fingers crossed for the new regimen as nothing seems to stop this aggressive as hell hairloss.

Cheers for the advice

Hey no problem man, I like helping fellow brothers who are in the same awful situation as I am.

With minoxidil, if you are 100% sure its not helping you, and you decide to drop it, try to do at least one application per day, and then drop it fully. Just so you don't go cold turkey on it and cause too much of a shed. It might also be a good idea to wait until you are settled with dutasteride since you do not want to have to deal with both a shed from stopping minoxidil and starting dutasteride. BTW start a shampoo like nizoral if you haven't already.

I'm on minoxidil and got okay results during the first six months, but during the past 9 I haven't improved at all. I will still continue to use it just because I feel it may be helping me keep things in check. I think that if you can tolerate the drug, keep taking it, at least once a day, but if you're getting sides and no results then drop it.

DON'T USE DUTASTERIDE.

Reason is simple. finasteride should work for EVERYONE.. if it's not working for you, then TEST is your culprit not DHT.. This is the same in my case.

DUTAS will screw you even harder.. Just like finasteride did without you knowing.

You only have topical antiandrogen and DHT inhibitors to go for now..

You'll see minoxidil working with these.

So what is TEST?

See I started on procepia when I first noticed a slight thinning at the temples and it got aggressive worse then added minoxdil and nizoral and still getting worse. Its not halting at all.

Well I got my dutas today and my topical sprio and msm but now I'm utterly confused. Its gotta be normal male pattern baldness though just really aggressive as its gone the typical route temples front and all over top/crown.

Is it normal for hairloss to just start at 23 and then go full blown agressive?

So if you havent had success with Procepia your not going to have any with Dutas, is that it? I just dont see how it could make it worse.

get your blood work done, check your hormone.

If you have hormone imbalance, it can affect your hair greatly.

OK. So what, do I just go to a doctor and ask for a blood test? Or do I have to tell them to look for something?

Thanks in advance - I never thought of that.

Also as my hair is still getting worse I'm quitting minoxidil. Hopefull topical spironolactone and dutas will turn this around.

I was being dead straight with my phycisian, I told him I am losing my hair and I wanted to have a blood/hormone test done. He didn't give me a hard time at all.

What kind of minoxidil are you using?? I used generic and it made my hair worse. When I used the foam it began growing back in. I would just stop using it and I would continue using the finasteride. spironolactone will def help you some. As was said go to the Dr. and get some blood work done. I just told my Doctor I was losing my hair and would like to know if I had any deficientcies and he tested me for all sorts of things.

Cheers mate, thanks for that, thats some really great advice.

Cant believe I didnt think of that a year ago. I originally went to a Doctor and told her i'm concerned about my sudden hairloss (when it started) and she put me on proscar.

I'll def be going back and asking for a blood test. So do you think its better to go to a normal Doctor or dermatologist to do this? Actually can dermatologists even schedule a boold test?

OH and I was using the kirkland liquid minoxidil. At best it was doing nothing at worst might have been making my hair worse as up until about 3 months ago my hair loss was only temples and bit of hairline, now its everywhere, though its probably just aggressive male pattern baldness and not the generic stuff. I've given it up anyway and only this week started my new regimen of the topical spironolactone and dutas and MSM. I'm trying to prepare myself for a massive shed coming off min/finasteride and onto dutasteride (I did give them time though) but recently it feels like I'm constantly shedding anyway.

Thanks again.

After being 1.5 years on finasteride, and 4 months on rogaine I can really relate to the thread starter: NOTHING. Absolutely f*****g NOTHING. My hair keeps falling and scalp is in bad shape, getting the itch and tingling and sometimes an inflamed feeling. I had a good amount of hair when I started finasteride and thought if I'd just maintain I'd be ok. The horrible truth was revealed after half a year on finasteride, I knew I was gonna need loads of regrowth if I was about to style my hair ever again. Of course, that hasn't happened. I'm not blaming finasteride for accelerating my hairloss, I'm blaming finasteride for not stopping the hair from falling.

Yeah GHG, We're in the same boat. Its was freaking me out as all the guys I know who are going bald are doing so slowly, my hairloss has come on later and then exploded past theirs all while I was taking the meds. Sucks big time. I also started right when it was just slight thinning at the temples and maintainace was all i was after, now, just like you, I need to grow back some hair to have a decent hair style again. And that damn scalp tingling is so annoying. And I dont blame the meds, though its hard not to sometimes but they sure as hell arent doing a damn thing. The money spent is bad but its the crushed hope that kills.

Fingers crossed for Dutas, foam and spironolactone.

Actually the thing that bothers me the most is the scalp pain, it really prevents me leading a normal life... it's always there, no matter what I do. People who haven't gone through this sh*t don't have any clue what it's like. My mother and sister say that I am not balding, my hair is just like always and all that bullshit just to keep me from buzzing it. I think it's so low to try and say that I'm mental instead of telling the truth which I already know: I am losing my hair at a very rapid speed. Every time I mention buzzing it again they'll go: "your hair looks so good now, better than ever. Why would you do it when the winter's coming and all?" BECAUSE I CAN'T f*****g STYLE MY HAIR AND I CAN SEE SCALP UNDER THE DIMMEST OF LIGHT, PRICKS. TRY TO SEE IT MY WAY FOR JUST A MINUTE. I was having this conversation with my mother last friday and I went totally berserk... of course I regret it now but she really was asking for it. It's her genes that are taking my hair yet she can't give me any sympathy whatsoever. NONE. Just lie to my face and tell me I'm mental if I think I'm going bald.

Oh god GHG, mate its the exact shame here - except its with my girlfriend. Don get me wrong love her and it would be annoy as hell to live with esp. when they dont understand the pain we are going through. But yeah I said for ages I was losing my hair and wanted to shave it and she kept deny it and saying that stuff as well. Basically said if I shaved it she would shave hers. Anyway just shaved it about blade 2 like 2 months ago. When I first shave it though it was magic, you couldnt really tell I was going bald, now 2 months later even when I shave it its very noticeable. God it sucks to happen so fast, cant believe it possible to lose so much hair in a year and a half.
