Hi guys, a little background on me I'm 20 years old, I'm currently a NW2,borderline NW2.5.
I first noticed my hair thinning at the crown 1-2 years ago, and thought nothing of it. It wasn't until 4 months ago that I saw a doctor to express my concerns about my hair loss. He told me I had most likely have male pattern baldness, he also told me stress can play a role in it as well.
He prescribed me Minoxidil 5% and advised me to use Regenepure DR as well.
I've been using Regenepure DR everyday for 4 months, I've also been using the minoxidil usually twice a day, sometimes missing applications here and there.
I had a catch-up with my doctor, and he told me that I should stop applying minoxidil to my hairline, as without using Finasteride, it would only make it worse, to which he confirmed that my hairline had infact become thinner because of this. So I took his advice and stopped applying it to my hairline and to the frontal areas of my head. I have however, had success with my crown and to the back of my head, as it is now thicker than before I started the minoxidil.
I stopped using minoxidil at the frontal areas and to the hairline 3 weeks ago, and I am now losing more hairs than normal, in particular in the spots where I used to apply the minoxidil, these hairs are generally not fibres, but large thick hairs. I've learnt that this is a shed that users who discontinue minoxidil can expect to experience, my question is, on average how long does this shed last for? I do however, still apply minoxidil to my crown.
Thanks and sorry for the long paragraph.
