Plucking vellus hairs?

Read a study that showed plucking hair in a certain pattern can cause hair to regrow.
I'm not talking about plucking terminal hair, but plucking the vellus hairs instead.
Just curious if anyone has tried this?
I've started to pluck the vellus hairs along my hair line and will see what happens.
The theory is, If you pluck the vellus hair while stimulating the area (minoxidil, oils, massage,etc) could the next cycle of that hair follicle be terminal?
Hair follicles have different stages, could it be the vellus hairs are in dormant state and by plucking them, initiate a terminal follicle?

Was the study you refer to on humans or on rodents? Rodents have certain growth factors which humans lack. Hence, many things that work on them don't work on us.
