I have tried everything to combat hairloss with no luck. I was on propecia for about a year and had some pretty serious ball pain. I pulled myself off it and used minoxidil for about a year with nothing......what crap and a waste of my friggen time. Anyways I have also tried revivogen-no luck, tricomin-nothing and was wondering what I should do now and would like to know what your adivce would be. Should I just get back on tricomin and ride it out. It seems to be the most proven alternative to propecia and minoxidil? Anyways right now I'm takin a natural dht inhibitor with viviscal, saw palmetto, fo ti root, beta sterols, and tons of other stuff with some success- been on about four months. Not gonna name the product I dont want anyone to think I'm trying to sell something. I just want some sound advice from people who seem to know alot about this. Anything would be appreciated! By the way I started to use L'Oreal vive thickening shampoo and it is amazing lots of thickness just thought I'd share. Thanks :x

Actually i don't use spironolactone but many guys on this forum use it, including HairLossTalk.com. From what i hear, it is a topical DHT inhibiter.
George Costanza said:
Spironolactone metabolizes rapidly in the skin and remains effective for up to 12 hours. There are three distinct benefits of topical spironolactone in the treatment of male pattern baldness:
(1). Spironolactone significantly reduces the amount of DHT in the scalp by inhibiting the conversion of precursor steroids to DHT.

(2). Spironolactone reduces the DHT in the scalp by converting localized testosterone into estrogen, which is thought to be protective of the hair follicles.

(3). Spironolactone blocks the follicular androgen receptor sites, thereby rendering any residual or circulating DHT harmless to the hair follicles. Rather than reducing the levels of circulating (serum) DHT like finasteride does, it prevents DHT from making a complex with the androgen receptor protein.

This might also help you.
