Please help. Uncontrollable tangling on curly Hair Skein system after wash(6+ months old)

I have a custom curly system from Hair Skein. The first 5 months were great. No problems. For some reason, this past month has been a tangling nightmare. The last reapplication included a coloring. Not sure if that's a factor. If I wet my hair and condition, I come out of the shower with big tangles on the top of my head. A stylist spent 4 hours the other day getting them out. I dread getting my hair wet now. The stylists said to make sure no tangles were there before wash, which I did. Didn't help. Two huge tangles appeared in the same place after getting out of shower. I have multiple stylists telling me different things on what to do, and it seems like they think I'm doing something wrong, but I'm trying extremely hard to do this right, and my best efforts are not enough. The tangles not only form after a wash, but they get bigger and bigger as the hair dries. I can literally go at it with a comb, trying to get it out right after jumping out of shower, and it'll get worse by the minute.

I'm pretty desperate right now to find some solution until my next system arrives(12 weeks out), but I'm thinking if this is how it really is, then maybe I shouldn't be getting these systems. My best hope is that the stylist can get out the recent tangles, and I can do some new routine that works. I've done my best very recently to turn the big tangles into smaller ones with a rat tail comb and getting them with conditioner, but I can't see it as I'm doing it, so it's not ideal, and there are always these small knots at the base that I have no hope of getting out.

Any ideas on what I can do? The fact that no one told me it's inherent to the system at this age tells me that this is a solvable problem, but I'm just out of ideas.

Probably a poor quality hair system that tangles easy. I've had that from a HairHub custom hair system, it was shite 'quality'.
Also are you using daily leave in conditioner?
Which helps reduce tangles and keeps the hair from looking and feeling dried out.

I doubt it.

The first 5 months were great.

Doesn't sound like a lemon to me.

(12 weeks out)

Oh yikes.

The fact that no one told me it's inherent to the system at this age tells me that this is a solvable problem,

...but hang on, did somebody tell you the piece would last 9+ months?

This is what I suggest:
Order a stock piece right away and perm it. If you have a stylist perform the perm, expect the turnaround time to be about a week. You should be able to have something ready to wear in about 2 weeks.

In the meantime, for the 6+ month old unit:
-Cut it (or have it cut) into a shorter style, as short as you are comfortable with or can get away with.
-Try an Olaplex treatment to reconstruct the hair. Get some Olaplex #3 and leave it in the hair for at least 30-45 minutes, or as long as you want. It's an expensive product, but if that doesn't help with the tangling problem, there's not much more you can do.
-Never shampoo it again
-Never heat style.

-Always have a backup especially for a unit that is more than 3 months old. There are exceptions, but I think 6 months is a reasonable max lifespan for most toupees, and more than that is *really* pushing it in most cases.
