I have had some thinning on the back of my head caused by pulling the hair.
I did mesotherapy half a year ago and after that i lost even more hair and started to have very annoying burning sensation on the back of my head in one spot where the hair is the thinnest.
I did PRP therapy and the doctor prescribed to me oral minoxidil combined with topical minoxidil.
I stop the oral minoxidil after 2 weeks of use as my face got so swollen on the mornings.
Now 1 week after i stoped the medicine i started to lose so much hair is unbelievable.
I´m afraid to go to the shower or comb it as it all seems to be coming of only with tiny touch... =(
Does anyone know does it take all my hair away??? Is there anything to do to stop it??
Im healthy and young woman and this is very bad.
Please advise me ... =(

Im healthy and young woman and this is very bad. Hello Mockingbird, If I were being prescribed ORAL MINOXIDIL, I would DUMP my PHYSICIAN, without pause! Do you have a heart condition? Why the mesotherapy?Find yourself the best Doctor available even if you must travel far or inconveniently outside your area of residence. Don't allow this **** head or any other for that matter to further jeopardize your precious health. Obviously, you are bright and you have your youth on your side. When you find a 'good doctor' look into getting your thyroid levels tested. This can sometimes be the culprit. As for your current regimen can you tell me what % of topical minoxidil are you using and at what frequency? Please try and step away from yourself and your anxious situation a little; remember that both your willingness and determination to take action is demonstrative of your courageous, fighting spirit. Keep asking questions, keep striving for clarity. never be afraid to challenge anyones point of view for the sake and safety of yours or your loved ones lives. Best Wishes!

You will have a period in which you will shed. After a month or so, it should clear up.

Allright ! Can I ask you a few question at first? How long have you use minoxidil exactly ? If you are new to minoxidil liquid ( I know you have stopped oral one ) and you have shedding PROBABLY ( NOT ALWAYS) Its a good sign and it shows you are going to gain more hair in the future ! But it depends which shedding type do you have ! Secondly I highly suggest you to talk with your physician because you did the PRP and I don't know when you did that exactly ! SO if it was recently ( less than 1-2 month ) I think that would be a better choice if you visit by a doctor and then he can tell you exactly whats going on ! Besides that if you have any other question I would be happy to help you .

Hey..

All started when i used hair extensions for 5 years in a row... Especially the last ones (2012 summer) were very bad and made expecially back of my head right side super thin. Took them off 2012 september.
Waited till last may to recover but still had some thinning so I did mesotherapy combined with minoxidil after that.. First 2 times were fine but last time i think i use too big needle (0,7mm) as after that i lost even more hair and got terrible burning afterwords. That happened like last may. Waited 6 months and still had terrible burning in this particular area on the back of my head (appr. 3cmx 3cm).
I visited atleast 5 doctors (specialist), with very little help.
One said take finasteride combined with minoxidil. Did a google and it says it´s very bad for ladies like me 28 and planning kids in a near future. He never even asked am i planning to make kids. BIG NO!
Few others offered some topical lotions (vitamins)... Also took blood tests, was normal.
One said use Nizoral, didn´t start to use it yet. Should i? Most of the doctors don´t take me seriously because i have very fine hair and they think this is normal. My hair is totally different from them (I live in Thailand) and because i´m not a candidate for hair transplantation they dont take me seriosly as dont make much money of me.
But.. Next doctor recommended PRP therapy which i did about mid dec. I was thinking it can´t do much of a harm. But the big proplem was That the doctor advised me to start to take oral minoxidil combined with topical minoxidil. It doesn´t say in a bottle or box how strong are they. I send 3 email to the clinic with no response back.

I used Minoxidil 15 days combines with minoxidil topical (i still dont know how strong neither one of those is) !!!
I lost all trust to all these doctors.

I´m afraid to wash or comb it as i´m afraid it all comes off =( I thought that i´ve seen already everything when it comes to ruin my hair but not.... this is far the worst. =(
I´m hopeless with these doctors as i spend already alot of time and effort to see them without proper care.
After i get away from this shedding, will stick with natural care only, as my hair started just to be in a nice shape before this, Appart from this one small are, which i could cover easily.

Do you think Nizoral would help me?
Thank you for the answers...

So If I understand right you did have blood test done for your thyroid and the results were normal ?Please clarify what you meant about in your last post ,when you state " will stick with natural care only".

Hi, Yes, my thyreoid levels are normal. By natural care i mean not going to use more natural options which don´t have this strong side effect. My hair really wasn´t an extreme case before but we most likely will be if this continues to fall 1-2months.. =(

I got an answer from the doctor: Generally, hair fall is normal for within the first month of taking Minoxidil tablets. On the 2nd month, hair should stop falling off while hair regrowth will be more evident during the 3rd month. To reduce the swelling eyelid ,please avoid salty food and reduce Minoxidil to every other day . The Minoxidil is 5mg.
I highly recommend that you continuously use the medication for at least 3 months to see the result.

This scares the **** out of me.... Don´t think i will not want to go through this again and i think i just need to suffer the hair loss now and hope i will not go all bald..
I would like to hear other people advise, should i really continue to take this??? I´ve understood now that oral minoxidil only for very extreme cases.. Not only minor thinning in one small area.
Isn´t there any advises how to make it fall even a little less? Is Nizoral any good for that? Why it comes of? Some blockage in a bloodflow of hair roots?

Nizoral 2% is somewhat of a reputable growth stimulant. I have not tried it myself but look into spironolactone as well for it can be a useful androgen protagonist. If you can tolerate nizoral then by all means get yourself on it. Glad to hear about your thyroid report.

To be clear I met that spironolactone topical is an anti- androgen blocker I'm sorry for the confusing semantics.
