About 6yrs ago i started noticing a fast receding hairline, it came on fairly quickly and
coincided with seborrheaic dermatitis which I treated with tgel.
I basically panicked with this sudden recession and went on 1.25mg proscar every second day. About 6weeks into the treatment i had testicular pain which got worse, ended up enduring it on and off for about another 6 weeks and then gave up completely after 3months. Noticed no difference in my hair over that period but it was obviously to short time period to notice anything.

After this I decided to give revivogen a try. It was very new at this stage so thought worth a try if it keeps away the sides. Revivogen 'seemed' to halt my frontal hairloss and after about 2 months noticed some very small hairs growing along the frontal hairline. I was absolutely delighted but my hair and scalp was getting more itching and inflammed the longer i continued using it, so after 6 months I decided i was going to live with hairloss and gave i up revivogen.

I just continued on tgel alone to clear up the scalp irritation. Strangely my hair never receded any more after this period, I guess the dht attack just subsided for a period of a few years.
Until over the past 2 months or so, the itch has started up again after 5 years without
'treatment' and notice my hairline very itchy and the frontal hair thinning again and the
recession is starting to progress further.

So here we are, photos below taken today you can clearly see miniaturising hairs to the left and the frontal patch is thining more than ever. I have no bald patch and the rest of my hair is fairly thick. Considering going back on proscar again along with revivogen. What do you think? I don't even know what norwood I am, I guess 2.5 or so. Anybody tell me whats going on, why the break of over 5yrs without attack? does it look like I have male pattern baldness? BTW I'm 32, one of my brothers is completely bald the other has a full head of hair and so has my dad.
Thanks for your input!

does not look bad at all ,the central forelock looks strong so it is the receding you have to watch, get on propecia and regaine and hope for the best, but realise although you are on these treatments there is a good chance they will not work but at least you can say you tried

thanks antonio, will get on the proscar again for now, will attempt to ride out the test ache for a bit longer and see how it goes. I think I'll hold off on the minoxidil for about a year or so as I believe it has to be a lifelong dedication once you start. May have to include it if I continue to shed at the same rate as its going. I find it weird how random male pattern baldness is though, when my brother was 22 he had a relentless attack on his follicles and was pretty much NW5 within 2 yrs. I seem to be less sensitive to attack but who knows when it might hit me hard, guess its never easy to lose it but now that i'm in my 30's it seems less of a big issue than it would've been in my 20's. Anyway best of luck.

BTW has anyone had any success with revivogen, I ask because when I went on it first it was only released and I def saw a decrease a dramatic in shedding and possibly some minor vellus hair, but continued use brought up its own problems with irritation. I've read the forums and the feedback seems definitely mixed, in theory it 'should' help but nobody seems to stay on it for very long, its difficult to find someone thats used it for a year or more. In the six years since its been out I would've expected more feedback on its effectiveness If anyone has used it for longish periods how did they control scalp irritation?

i used revivogen for about 8 months, saw no results which can be sometimes good, sometimes bad, no hairloss or gain however i was taking propecia at the time and ive had great luck with propecia maintaining and keeping existing hair, adding revivogen to do the same thing just seems pointless. finasterside is tried and tested, id stick with it and possibly consider a laser comb
