Pimples on my scalp!!!

I´ve just detected my second pimple in the crown, just where I have the thinner hair in all my head. As a matter of fact, I apply my topicals mainly in that area, and then spread them a little to the top.

I detected the other one a couple of weeks ago. Those motherfuckers hurt when I touch them, even with the friction of my pillow.

I´ve never ever had such thing before. I do minoxidil, finasteride and I added zix (with all the b vitamin range instead of b6 alone) a couple of months ago. Could it be the zix??.

I´m also experiencing a shedding, inusual for me. I never take count of the hairs I lose, but this time seems like I´m donating it to my shower.

My hair looks pretty good, better than when I started treatments, but I´m starting to get worried, specially with those motherfucking pimples. Anyone has anything simillar???

Has anyone heard of something equally weird??

Is it gyno on my head?? Am I growing a pair of tits on my head?? Am I going to be a mutant??

What if I tan my pimples to reduce contrast?? what If I strenght them in the gym?? WTF!!!!!

I´ve never got them before. The thing that upsets me most is that they hurt.

I´m also wondering...

What skin processes are pimples associated to??

Isn´t scalp skin different to other skin because of follicle density??

Why do I have pimples then??

well just googled it http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=593781

and guess what it came out with;
Scalp bumps and pimples can be caused by a wide variety of things, not
the least of which are allergic reactions to the harsh chemicals (in
shampoo, conditioner, hair treatments or dyes). In addition
(specifically in males) these pimples can be caused by an
over-abundance of Dihydrotestosterone (DHT) in his scalp.

Interesting can't say I ever got them before I started with my regime

May I chime in?

Since my treatment of Avodart... virtually all of the acne on my skin (I had some bad back acne... I know, gross.) has vanished.

I get a pimple every once in a while, but it varies... I've had acne free skin for the last 3-4 months, and I've been on Avodart for about 5.5 months. A big change for me.

Yeah i have read that some people have said there regimen has either got rid of their spots or given them mad out breaks.

Lucky for me I never really got spots and can't say my regimen has changed that either which is good. Well with the exception of these few annoying itchy spots of my scalp.

I have been getting them pretty rarely since I started 4 1/2 months ago on minoxidil/finasteride. I've only gotten them on my forehead, close to the hairline but not actually in my hair. I'm pretty positive this has been due to minoxidil, as the minoxidil runs down to this area, and I've been applying it a bit below my current hairline to promote any regrowth in that area.

Yeah, they can sometimes hurt, but no more than regular normal acne. In the past month or two I haven't gotten any so I think my skin has gotten used to the minoxidil (or the finasteride?). Even when I got them it was only 1-3 total, and they usually came in waves.

Hmmm, what do you mean with pimples?

pimples = acne? (sorry to ask, but i'm not a native eng. speaker)

If you mean pimples = acne, then I don't know why are you wondering and surprised about it. I thought almost everyone with male pattern baldness has got acne in their scalp. Or am I missing something?

I have seen lots of acne in ym scalp when I started minoxidil...

Yes, pimples = acne. You do well with your english for a non native speaker by the way.

I'm not really suprised at the acne really, we're smearing stuff on our scalp twice a day that is a bit greasy feeling, I'm betting it can clog pores and cause acne. Mine seemed to go away though after a while, or at least I haven't seen any in quite a while.

No, it isn´t the minoxidil, I think. I have been on it for 2 years before, and this thing never happened to me before.

I guess it´s just the spring.

That's good to hear as i might be jumping ship to avodart by next week. Proscar has been sucking hard the last 3-4 months with a bunch of shedding and very oily scalp.

I also have these scalp bumps and i never had them until i started proscar... there's 3 on the back of my head that just wont go away. There's a cream i have that might get rid of them though. It's actually my moms eczema cream but the stuff fixes pretty much any skin condition and my derm said it was very powerful stuff so i have high hopes.

i switched my shampoo and the method of how i wash my hair. I add face wash into the shampoo, this method seems to help clear it up but doesn't prevent it.
