Well I had this crazy idea this day. I feel that hair transplants are great but for those whose hair is thicker, have a lower norwood and a good donor area. For the others the results is a bit meh... As for the hair pieces it looks total sh*t for most people. Why? because you see these crazy thick hair with the sides being immensly receded. So what if you invest on restoring the sides with a hair transplant and just a thin strip for the frontal hairine, and have the remaining bald area covered with a hair piece. I mean if you have tried hair pieces and you feel its fine to wear them. What are your thoughts on that? Too crazy? Too risky? Too committing?

This is not possible. You can restore the temple points with a transplant but not the sides.
The sides are part of the donor area (at least where they connect with the back of the head), not of the recipient area.

That's the thing about hairpieces, you need to have good thick sides to blend in with them in order for it to work, unless you go full cap, most of which I have seen look horrible. And if you have thick sides then you are probably a good candidate for a hair transplant, so why not just go for that?
