As you guys know, nizoral is currently not in production. This is temporary supposedly. In the meantime, I need something to help deal with irritation I get from using liquid rogaine at night. I've found other shampoos to be sub-par in dealing with this problem after being spoiled by nizoral. So I've tried a different shampoo with keto. This one:

http://www.amazon.com/Hair-Shampoo-Keto ... bt_title_2.

I used it today, so I'm just gonna give you guys my brief review.

First of all, the product description on amazon was not very helpful; It didn't say how much keto was in it or what % of other active ingredients are in it. According to the packaging, it's 1% keto just like over the counter nizoral. It also has 2% salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is the active ingredient in Neutrogena T-sal shampoo which has 3% Salcylic acid. A couple years ago, I complained to my derm about hair loss, and he recommened T-sal along with rogaine. I didn't use the T sal at the time because I didn't think a shampoo would be helpful with hair loss. T-sal is used for "scalp build up" control, to help flaking and irritation etc. According to Perfect Image Solutions, Salcylic Acid also acts as a mild exfoliant to help minoxidil absorption. The shampoo also has emu oil, biotin, and other BS that supposedly helps with hair loss. I'm just interested in the keto and sal acid.

Now that you have those details, on to the review. The bottle is pricey, 20 bucks+shipping for 6 ounces. The packaging of the shampoo looks very legit. The shampoo itself has a light green color and subtle pleasant minty smell. It only takes a small amount to get a good lather going. I could feel a very mild burn in a couple of places on my scalp when I first rubbed it onto my head. It did seem to help with any irritation.

Final analysis: IF this stuff is legit and has the ingredients it says it does, I think it is a very good alternativ to nizoral. However, given how expensive it is, I will only use it until nizoral comes back. If Nizoral doesn't come back, I would only use it once or twice a week, because a 20 dollar shampoo cannot be used everyday if you're a broke student like me.

They seem to make my scalp break out. I don't know for sure if that's what is causing it but I'm leaning that way. I think you are supposed to use the NT as a daily shampoo and the DR every few days like you would any keto shampoo.

Nizoral is still available relatively cheap on Amazon. You can still get 2 100ml bottles for 24$. Which comes out to 12$ per bottle.

I believe the Regenepure DR would be a good alternative to Nizoral...good choice.
