Hey guys... Its been 10 years since my hair started thinning...
My hairline is pretty much gone..
I started using finastride, minoxidil, biotin and keratin supplements.
After the 1st month of starting my regimen..
I notice that my blad spot starting to grow a lot of peach fuzz like hair.. vellus hair i assume? And i can see that the peach fuzz is forming an outline of hairs around/covering my bald spot.
And just to be clear, the bald spot is really bald, as in smooth to the touch bald.
Is this a good sign? Is this a signal that my hair is regrowing?
I'm super excited but unsure at the same time.

I read on the internet and asked people around that I need to wait at least 3 -6 months to see any result..
Mine appeared on the 1st month ...which is a bit too fast ? :/
I'm hopefully but super skeptical at the same time

Everyone responds differently to the medication. Finasteride usually freezes hair loss for 90% of men but regrowth is more like 50% of men. Be glad that you're responding well in one month.

You're quick responder like me, but once you're quick responder - you will also gonna lose gains quicker if medication gonna stop working. But hey! You have long time so dont worry :) And think positive.

I believe when that's said it's meant in the terms of a visible results, at least a cosmetic one. I can't say this for all people but if you're observant you'll likely see results much sooner. That said I've had the exact same peach fuzz you've described, it's been taking months but the hairs are slowly turning terminal, typically they shed and regrow back slightly stronger each time.

I see... Well it strikes me weird cause I've been losing my hair for 10+ year now and i think im at Norwood 5 or 6 ... So i have little expectations, and the reason I take my regiment now is because generic finastride/minoxidil are now available in my country...
Propecia and Rogaine is waaaay expensive..
Each cost around 170-220$ per month

I'd definitely add derma rolling/microneedling to your regime, it's more effective than minoxidil and the effects are additive so both will yield optimal results for derma rolling.

Derma roller.. is that the spiky roller that people use in their skin? Can you use it on scalp?

Yes. 1.5mm is good. I use one daily. I started with 1mm but to be honest there's no difference in pain with the 1.5mm. It doesn't hurt unless you were to press very hard. It stimulates the scalp so that minoxidil will be better absorbed. The derma-roller should speed up the effects of minoxidil.

so ...like i apply minoxidil and then use the dermaroller? (while minoxidil still on my scalp?)

You could but I think most people do it the other way around. You stimulate the scalp with the derma-roller everywhere where you have hairloss and then you apply minoxidil.

i read somewhere that minoxidil inhibits collagen ... since dermaroller makes micro cuts to force the body heal/rejuvenate new cells aint that counter intuitive if we combine minoxidil+dermaroller?

I'm not too sure. The consensus is that light derma-rolling is enough to allow better absorption of minoxidil. There are people who use the derma-roller for more heavy "wounding" of the scalp which causes regeneration and new growth. I haven't tried that kind of derma-rolling. There are posters on this forum who do. I'm following the method of the guy in the video above who uses it to boost absorption and has had great success.

That's false information and you don't want minoxidil to be absorbed into your body as it can cause issues, you want to wait 24h after rolling to apply minoxidil.

If you read my previous posts you'll see I'm not talking about wounding so not false information. Thanks
