im a ethnic guy with mixed curly hair. around december i went get a shape up because i had my hair curly and i noticed the front right corner area (but not the temple, still the front) was slightly thinner than the rest of my hair. i thought my barber may have messed my hair up so i was mad about that but ignored it. left side looks normal. if it counts for anything, i've had alopecia areata in the back neckline area of my hair a few times in my life. anyways..

5 months later i went get a low haircut like most black people, and as my hair started to grow in thicker over the next few weeks, i can tell i still have that one thin spot like right here. i circled it in the first picture

This is probably the best example..its not exactly clear because its "combed over" right now, but you can see that thin area in this first pic. The second pic i just pushed by hair back in that area. Probably not a good shot.

like i said the other side looks fine. i dont wanna ignore this and let it develop into something serious without addressing it. im only 21. none of my cousins on either side have bad hairlines / thin hair. my dad has issues of course, but he's 50 years old. my mom does as well, but she's 52 also. they both looked normal all their lives

either

a: I've had this bald spot all my life (doubt it)

b: I noticed it that one day at the barber shop and been paranoid / hyper-sensitive ever since

also if i wash my hair and push my entire hairline back with my hand, the right side goes a little deeper in the temple area. not by much but i can see it if i look closely

I lost about 20 pounds over the course of 6 months before I noticed it and I was very active during the time. Strict diet, and I'd run miles and lift weights. I wonder sometimes if that caused telogen effluvium. Or alopecia areata. regardless i just wanted some input. thanks for any helpful replies
