Can I just say, I apologise for the lack of paragraphs it won't let me press return?? Anyway, Ok so first of all I've been in and out the doctors over the past couple of years with various things. I have a condition called cold urticaria too (which basically means i'm allergic to the cold) I get hives on my arms, body, feet, legs, everywhere really with the cold. With regards to my head around a year ago I noticed occasionally my head would turn bright red with itchiness to the point you could literally see my head it was like a lightbulb through my hair. you could fry an egg off it from about 5 inches away, and trust me in the area of world I live in there is no fear of it being sunburn! But a few weeks ago I noticed badly my hair was thinning all over the place. i'm 27, I don't know of any baldness in my family and this seems to be going very very fast. I get bad dandruff too which I've noticed, if I shake my hair bits of scalp fall out all over the place like dandruff and some hairs too, maybe 5 or 6 hairs. I've booked with a GP on Wednesday who will no doubt refer me to a dermatologist but god knows how long that will take. I suffer from pretty aggressive health anxiety so would appreciate any opinions on this. the last 2 pics uploaded are ones taken when my hair was sorta wet/gelled and that's what freaked me out originally. the others are in the sunlight. Thanks. image (3).jpgimage (4).jpgimage (5).jpgimage (6).jpgimage (7).jpgimage.jpg

hi it looks like you hair is thinning. you are going to see your GP in a couple of days, right? Your doctor will be able to tell you if you're losing hair. If not, go see another doctor or ask them to refer you to a dermatologist. If you just want to get a prescription of finasteride, your GP will / can do it for you. Good luck.

Hey thanks. Yeah seeing doctor on Wednesday who will hopefully refer me to a dermatologist. My worry is that it will take a few weeks for an appointment.

Also from my brief scouring of this and a few other websites I've yet to see or hear of someone who takes finasteride in a similar condition to me and it actually working! All I see is hair shedding this and massive shedding that. So ill have to go through a period where my hair falls out? That's what's already happening! Ha ha.
