oral Prednisone ?

Hi, I have male pattern baldness and alopecia and my dermatologist prescribed for me Dermovate scalp application to be applied to the alopecia areas. I was also prescribed Prednisone ( oral steroid ) which is for my eczema . But being that these are both steroids and from stories I’ve read, is prednisone actually more effective for alopecia than Dermovate ?
