Ive never seen anything like that. Doesnt look like male pattern baldness kind of thinning but I could be wrong. Have you been stressed out lately? Did you get knocked out in a street fight and had the back of your head land on concrete?

You have two cowlick in the crown area, with opposite spin, ...., this issue is prone to suffer common hair loss, not due to stress but problems to eliminate hair fat. My advice is control the sebum creation and elimination, ...., the best way using a lotion (*) during night and wash the hair in the morning.

OTOH, let that hair grow in this area, don`t cut severely

(*) An example: Jojoba oil plus some drops of essential oils.

Can this be because of stress? I had my exams about 1.5 months prior to this and during that time i really did get stressed.

it could be, you could make a cure of magnesium and see.. try to relax, do some yoga or other mehtods to manage stress, i dunno.
you can also try Armando Jose option with jojoba and essential oils it will do no harm.
(you may also see a dermatologist)

absolutely not, it doesn't look like a commun pattern of alopecia, and if it's due to stress, you should not add stress about hair to it^^ you will place yourself into a vicious cycle. like a said just relax, try to enjoy your vacancions (i guess), if you are worreid, take an appointment to see a dermatologist to examin you scalp.
