Opinion On My Hair

Hello,

I would like to get an opinion on my hair. I am 24 years old and I had really thick hair when I was younger. They are now much thinner.

It looks like I have cycles of hair loss. Sometimes my hair is growing much better without issues and sometimes I have some hair loss spots.

I can't find the cause of this. I initially thought it was because I was not eating enough proteins, so I did the test and it looked like it was better, but then it happens again.

It's weird because it's only on one side of my head. I attached some pictures where I have wet hair. You can see it better.

What do you think I should do?

You need finasteride and minoxidil. Don't wait until it's too late. You can regrow a lot of that hair, but after too long those follicles are gone.

you're thinning from all around, its just one side is more pronounced. do yourself a favor if you wanna go head on with treatment, start with finasteride, assess for 6 months to a year, if you want more out of your regimen then move to minoxidil.

If you start minoxidil alone now, you run a chance of being a non responder and losing hair. At least if you start finasteride you know you wont be losing and can assess before you commit to a or two time daily application. good luck brotha!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if he's a non-responder he shouldn't shed from minoxidil, right?

That's actually a very solid question, I can't tell you. It's 2.5 years I'm on minoxidil and i don't even know if I'm a responder or not

At the moment, I am in a period of hair regrowth. I have a lot of new short hair coming out. I don't understand why.

Anyways, can someone explain me the difference between Minoxidil and Finasteride? I am also seeing thing like Rogaine etc. I would like to know more about all these products and why you suggest them? Also, where can I buy these and what are the cost?

f you were born with blond hair, you
need to realize something. You were born with around 10,000 more follicles than most other people.
LOL? Being born with blonde hair doesn't mean you have more hair follicles lmao.

You have male pattern baldness. The new short hairs coming out are probably miniaturized hairs, meaning they are going to keep shedding and getting smaller and smaller until you can't see them anymore (hence balding). Rogaine contains minoxidil (people use the terms interchangeably). It regrows hair/maintains for some, but most need to be on a DHT inhibitor. Finasteride is your best bet, but do your research before starting it. Finasteride requires a prescription to get (at least in the United States).

So you suggest me getting both?

If keeping your hair is important to you, yes. It is your best bet at maintaining what you have and possibly regrowing some. Always research before starting any treatment though. Best to know the possible side effects before starting either of these because they are both life-long commitments. I would schedule an appointment with a dermatologist. They will probably just repeat what you have been told on the forums, but they can prescribe you finasteride (propecia). Rogaine you can get from Walmart or online (don't need a prescription for that).

Youre diffuse thiner obviously. In this situation i would hop on insta finasteride. Since. You still got 70% of your base thickness. And numbers going down.
