On Rogaine Foam for over a year....nothing

I've been using it since February of last year and have just experienced a lot of shedding. For a while, I thought my temples were growing in, as my hairline wasn't as exaggerated, but that's seemed to wear off. Once, I rubbed my temple area cuz that's where it was itching, and I ended up rubbing off a bunch of hairs! My hair is thin as ever, as I can see the individual strands of hair and scalp underneath. I do keep my hair really short though, so it's not as easy to tell, but I wish I could grow it out longer. When my hair grows out a couple of weeks, the thinning is a lot more obvious b/c the strands are longer, but the scalp is still visible. Will stopping Rogaine completely be bad? Will stopping then restarting later on down the line cause me to go through the initial shedding process again?

Yeah. Im quite frustrated with the foam on my hairline now. I also started foam for my hairline the exact same time you did. Im contemplating stopping it or at least applying it once a day from now on. Im just not seeing enough improvement to warrant twice a day applications. Some months I think wow my hair is definately better on the hairline with the minoxidil, then other months it looks worse. My right temple is dying a slow death and I can see individual hairs now and as you say I also experience this massive shed phenomina when I rub or even brush my hairline about 15 hairs come out. Im going to keep applying it for now, because i dont really have a choice. But this year I will be making some very serious moves to get a hair transplant for the hairline.

do you feel like, at least, the foam slowed down your temple loss? or do you think it continued at the same rate as before you started foam?

Ostrich hair transplant is hair transplant.

I think the minoxidil has maintained my hairline to a certain extent, but as for growth, its minor in my opinion. The crown is a different story, definately some noticable cosmetic improvement there.

@meatalheaddude: You think it's worth a try to use the foam on the crown and the liquid in the front? (i used the foam before just in the front with some "eating the hairline" results)

same here bud...been on foam for more than 10 months with nothing more than maintaining...so I added 0.5 mg of finpecia three weeks ago....I believe it only works if u used them together.

Its to hard applying liquid to the hairline, ive tried already...it just drips down your face, but the foam stays in place long enough so you can work into the area you want. Liquid also gave me skin flaking. So I doubt I will resort back to foam...I might check out this rivotgen stuff.

I thought about trying liquid on the crown and foam for the hairline just to save a little money (foam is more expensive).
