I've been on Propecia for 3 weeks now, I used Minoxidil 5% twice since yesterday and don't want to use minoxidil anymore. I've read about the shed that occurs after quitting minoxidil, along with telogen effluvium, how hair can become minoxidil dependent, and even hair that wasn't thinning can be lost. I was wondering if using and quitting the minoxidil will effect the future regrowth I could experience with Propecia?

It is not like that. If you quit minoxidil, you will lose the hair you got with minoxidil but it won't make you balder than you already are.
Having said that, if you say you don't want to use minoxidil, don't use it... It's your choice based on your goals and side effects. It's your life.

IMO minoxidil is kind of a pain to use every single day especially knowing you have to do it forever to keep the results. I only use it once a day and its still a pain. Its not hard at all to see why merk went oral with finasteride over topical because taking a pill everyday is just so much faster and easier.
I do think finasteride is easier overall even if carries more risks

if you quit minoxidil you will regret it ... you will shed and even though your on finasteride you will look below baseline until you return to the normal state as if you never used minoxidil.... i thought the same cause i hated using it twice a day and i go out often and don't apply the night time application til like 3 am or so and sometimes i dont even sleep at home. but when i quit after two months my hair has gone to sh*t! and i jumped back on and still havent recovered.

Yeah, because you're shedding from quitting and then shedding from starting again. This is just common panic reaction. Qutting minoxidil introduces a shock to the system, so the shed is basically a telogen effluvium shed. You need at least 6-9 months to recover after the initial shed from quitting minoxidil. Most people don't have that kind of patience, so they just jump back on minoxidil and claim 'NEVER STOP IT WILL DESTROY YOUR HAIR'.

Yeah this is true but the only reason I quit in the first place was because I had a itch scalp and tons of dandruff I tried all kinds of minoxs... But finally I got it under control with using TGEL every other day. So now I'm using minoxidil again twice a day
