On or Off minoxidil Please Help

In a nutshell, i stupidly got stuck in a 6 month contract with Hair club for men, which includes a 6 month supply of 2% minoxidil. One month into this program I decided to go see an actual professional dermantologist. He told me that I should get off the mnox, and all i need to do is take 1mg finasteride that he prescribed me. Here is my question, should i take his advice, and start my battle with hairloss simply with the 1 mg finasteride? Will getting off minoxidil 1 month in have any effects? He also suggested i could just finish my 6 month supply of minoxidil and than get off it than. I asked if i would just lose all the hair i gained in those 6 months from minoxidil and he said no.... Ideally i would like to just take the finasteride, and not having to worry about minoxidil 2x a day. I have also been trying minoxidil only once a day.



I know i have asked alot of questions, but i ened to know now if i should stay on minoxidil (I have been using it either 1 or 2 times a day).

Chances are slim that you'll get all of your density back using just finasteride.

Stay on the minoxidil. When it comes close to running out, get some 5%, either foam or liquid, and start using it.

Get on finasteride and stay on it. Use minoxidil consistently. You might see some good results.

What is the reasoning for upping the dosage of the minoxidil to 5%? Im really scared of it bloating my face and or wrinkles. Im also using it once a day before bed, because it leaves my hair so greasy.... I will post pictures after 6 months i guess, really appreciate your input though

The 5% minoxidil foam called rogaine is supposed to dry really fast.

A lot of people who use the 2% get the same bloated face they get with 5%, so if you're gonna get it you probbly already would have gotten it
