So I’ve been using S5 cream for about a month now. The past few weeks I’ve been shedding a lot; noticing thick hairs all over the place. The most distressing thing is the huge hit my hairline has taken (the only place I’m applying it / losing hair); the front of the forelock has lost about 50% of its density in just a matter of weeks… I can see the scalp very easily at the front.

I’m been on propecia for 3 or 4 years now, and I’ve tolerated it well although my hairline has never stopped going. It is now rapidly being eaten away, and whereas the temples will become miniaturised and gradually thin out and recede, the forelock (middle) is literally just dropping out. Thick hairs are just dropping out and then nothing, there should be a whole load of miniaturised hair there considering how much I’m losing, but the hair is literally just disappearing. I’m so goddamn down about this and am terrified of looking in the mirror anymore.

All I’ve ever wanted is to STOP my hairloss, obviously regrowth would be great but I’d be so happy with just maintaining, but my hairline NEVER stops. I’ve tried minoxidil, stemoxydine, castor oil (topical and oral), LiCl, needling, been on propecia for years, and yet it still keeps going.

What do you guys think should be my next move? I’m wondering if RU could be the missing piece of the puzzle, or maybe even topical seti? I need to stop this sh*t, it’s going too far now

Isn't it a really good sign that you're experiencing a massive shed?

You know after all this time dealing with this sh*t, you'd think I'd see it that way; instead I'm just as much of a scared little b**ch (I have gotten a lot better, but it still really gets to me...)

Does S5 even give a shed? I'm just worried my hairloss has rapidly sped up all of a sudden and I'm looking for something to add to ensure maintenance

A shed is a good sign by all accounts. We don't have a lot of anecdotal info on S5 though.

Please keep track for the rest of us.

Long-term, some of your options include:
- hair transplant;
- Switching from finasteride to dutasteride;
- adding RU but that seems redundant;
- Anything new available in the next few years such as seti, fevi, CB0301, histogen, brotzu

However, you have exhausted the known options if you're already on two separate anti-androgens and minoxidil doesn't work for you.

Honestly I've never really given min a fair chance in terms of monitoring its effectiveness, I actually have a 6 month kirkland supply sitting right here that I'm considering cracking open. I've seen some guys say that RU worked for them where finasteride didn't, you don't think that's possible? I was thinking of getting some RU and adding it to my min and using it.

But yeah I'll keep going with the S5 and hoping I'm just going through a typical temporary shed, whilst praying to Lord Brotzu for salvation

Imo if you're losing ground after 1+ year on finasteride it's time to try dutasteride

Consider adding .5mg dutasteride 3x week or just switching to it daily

imo S5 cream is complete garbage, and you really have no idea if you're having an allergic reaction to the other compounds in it.. Like I said with MAA's crap, I know you like to be optimistic, but it doesn't work. Same with S5 cream. So many have tried it and i've never once seen convincing results. From all I've been through, here is a little advice, take it or leave it.

1) drop S5, continue finasteride of course, consider adding dutasteride, because you respond well to finasteride with minimal sides.

2) Reconsider microneedling the front and applying minoxidil. I know for fact THIS is the only reason I still have remnants of a hairline.

3) anti inflammatory supplements, like turmeric, ginger, etc... yes, they do help.

4) consider RU, but only for the front and start at a small dosage, like 2.5% concentration. See how you respond after a month or two.

Good luck man!!

Hydroxprogesterone actually shows promise. There's a study with eighteen men. Obviously, that's not realistic. The thing is, nine regrew their hair back. And that was only from hydroxprogesterone alone!

This is a very objective look at studies here:

Ima stick with S5, cos I already got a few jars and it's pretty easy to apply. Definitely thinking about RU, but I'm a little nervous about some guys saying it fucked up their hairline.

I probably didn't give needling enough of a chance, how do you incorporate min into it?

dutasteride is in the back of my mind for when I decide I really need it. I think ima stick it out til the end of summer to see if I am going through a shed right now, and then get on dutasteride a few times a week if I have to.

Thanks bro!

There's no way RU messed up anyone's hairline. Ask them to provide one credible explanation for how RU could do that. Personally, I think you're wasting your time with S5. If you're serious about this, RU is going to be much more helpful.

Is RU any use for regrowth or maintenance only?
I'd also agree that you may as well drop the S5, can't understand why it's being advertised here.

Without human trials, you can't say with certainty. In my opinion, it's as good for regrowth as Finasteride or Dutasteride, based on my own experience, and what I've seen on the forums.

So you think RU could stop my hairline loss? I was going to wait a bit but for some reason my hairline has taken a huge hit in the last week or so, I'm going to look into ordering RU today. I guess it's agreed that powder is superior to pre-mixed, but is there much of a difference really?

It stopped mine dead in its tracks. No real difference if you get the premixed from anageninc.

Damn what a beautiful statement, that's honestly all I've ever wanted from all of my efforts, spanning six years and countless treatments, at fighting hair loss. My hair is pretty thick all over but my hairline has just ignored everything I've tried to do so far. How long til I should see RU doing its thing?

Gonna order some tonight, thanks man

It shouldn't take more than a month or two to notice it's stabilized. I started noticing a slight improvement after 1 month, and had a lot of regrowth after 3 months.

Can RU be used along with minoxidil around the hairline? Probably a very stupid question... just wondering do you have to wait till minoxidil dries etc. Also, where can you order it?
