I was thinking about this, this evening when I decided to do a mid-week de/re. My timing was off, as I expected to get a haircut, which didn't happen. So my usual Sat -> Friday wear schedule got upset. At this point, I am pretty consistent with the whole process. Tape makes it easy to clean, tape, spray and slide make it really easy to place. What used to be terrifying, is now, actually really really easy.
I was reflecting on it, on how it's become such a part of my routine, and that I have not been outside the house without hair in so long, that it is really part of my persona. The weirdest part of all of this is still the shave, for me. I still get slightly "weirded out" having to shave my fringe down to a N7 to fit the system. I will say the most gratifying part is when I roll the front half of the system, forward, and press it into place.
I am having fun with this, next month the new hair arrives, denser, with some curl, so a new style will happen, and very excited about it.
I still run into people who have never seen me with "hair", and the reactions are still very positive, and since no one really knew I was balding (kept it shaved for decades), there is no reason for them to think I have a hair system on.
I did have a funny thing happen, a friend from overseas brought over some rolls of tapes for me, so she knew, but her friend didn't. "Gee, Steve I don't understand why you shaved your head, you have such beautiful hair". My friend started to giggle until I kicked her under the table. I am still amazed that people can't tell.
