ive noticed my hair tends to get exceptionally oily, once i come home from work my hair looks grease pan. I shower every morning but it gets oily very quickly. im assuming oily hair has played an important role from my thining hair.. any ideas why this problem is occuring?????
Sure. You're what Kligman calls a "sebaceous athlete". In other words, you have big, fat, healthy sebaceous glands in your scalp which happily produce sebum all day and all night long!
What you could try doing is use Nizoral and/or T-Gel shampoos, both of which have some evidence showing that they tend to reduce sebum production. Alternating them might be better than using either one alone.
BTW, I'm not really sure to what extent (if any) that overactive sebaceous glands make balding worse. It may only be an
association, as opposed to cause-and-effect.
