Oh finasteride

I am looking for any sort of advice because right now I haven't got a clue what to do...

Been on finasteride for a few months and my libido is fine, hair looks great but I am getting GYNO (growth, pain, lumps), and brain fog, some times I can't remember things that I should do.

Now I could use an aromatase inhibitor (AI), or switch completely to RU58841? this is very overwhelming and I don't want to mess with my hormones too much with an AI seeing as I am only 19 and that sounds very dangerous.

Any advice would be welcomed...

At 19 your hormones will probably still be all over the place. It's not uncommon for people to get gyno in their teens without the aid of drugs, either.

I'd normally say "try to stick the sides out for a few months" but gyno is not one people would recommend doing that... at least that's how it seems.

Gyno can cause problems worse than just man-boobs.

Most 5-ar inhibitors work in a similar way so you'd probably get similar sides even if you switched.

I thought that things like RU stop the DHT affecting hair follicles instead of lowering it completely. I am using andractim gel for now and it's not doing much, couldn't use that long term anyway.

Things like RU are meant to work like that, yes, but people say topical treatment (the DHT preventing kind) is not great. I've looked into RU and it seems there's no reliable places to get it from so you never know if it's going to be made properly, or if even it is what you expect. People can make it at home apparently, but I'd never try that since I'm not a chemist.

I would definitely use a topical DHT inhibitor (5-ar inhibitor for the picky types :p) if they were proven to work. I hate Propecia. It's a devil drug for me unfortunately, but it's working :(

I think out of all these experimental treatments, RU is the one I seem to hear most success with. However, there's so much money to be made in this market I am not sure why someone hasn't properly tested and manufactured it.
