So I've been on finasteride for nearly 5 months now. My hair seems to have become much worse than baseline. I don't know if I've been undergoing a shed as I was already losing a lot of hair everyday before I started. My hairline hasn't exactly receded any further but my hair is much thinner than it was. I'm a diffuse thinner anyway so I can't tell if this is just finasteride not working, however, since taking finasteride I no longer have the male pattern baldness itch or alot of sebum. The only itch I get is from using toppik which i have resorted to using to cover up the rapid thinning. Another thing I've noticed while being on finasteride is that I lose a lot more body hair and that it has been looking and feeling much more thinner than it did prior to finasteride.
I was planning on getting on minoxidil after 6 months just to help speed up the growth cycle phases so that I could atleast have more thicker hair than my baseline but seeing my hair continue to thin has kinda made me hesitant as I know using minoxidil could cause a lot of hair shedding which could be too hard to stomach due to the continued thinning and that I have read quite a few posts of guys saying minoxidil sped up their hairloss.
So what do you guys think? It'd be great to hear from people who were in the same boat as me but saw improvement down the line
