Hello everyone ,

New guy here who is just seeking a little advice or comfort from people in the same or similar situation.

I went to a Dr as I noticed that my hair seemed to have gotten slightly thinner at the from- even though I have always had thin hair on the top of my head I though that this had gotten a little bit worse.

The doctors reported specified that there were "Some signs of retraction of the frontal margin compatible with Hamilton Norwood Stage 2". Since doing some research I can honestly say I have been Norwood 2 from about 16-17 years old , my older brother is a Norwood 2 as-well. The Doctor also said I showed signs of thinning. The Doctor couldn't tell me if I was going to go completely bald and she didn't seem to think it was going to be a rapid process.

I don't really understand the diagnosis- both my mother and father have thin hair, but nevertheless a full head of hair and likewise for all my grandparents. I have a bald uncle and my Great Granddad was bald.

Is there anyone out there that was a Norwood 2 in their 20's and stayed that way?

Below are a series of pictures of my hair when it gets a little high, brushed and unbrushed. Note that my hair has been this thin since 16 years old and my hairline similar.

Yeah I agree with thinning - all I am saying is that Its been that way since 16yrs old bro. My brother is like this too but his hair is more thick

Yeah your hairline is a nw2 but your thinning pattern is nw6 man, I'll be honest with you because that's what I wanted when I came to this site for help. It looks like you have aggressive thinning and are likely to bald more.. have you considered finasteride? If you can thicken your existing hair, your hairline would look even better

I respect your honesty, the doctor spoke about this but said I could think about this for a few years. I doubt I will take any medication ill just have to go bald gracefully. This is unlikely to happen until my late 30's which is cool. Everyone ages I just wont be handsome anymore :( lool. That being said I must say both my mum and dad have thin hair on the top and my hair has always been this thin since 16 years old , back then I use to think I was going bald too

Im hoping that I just get really thin and not bald (fingers crossed)

Black guys are always shaping their hairline I am sure this had a effect on the actual shape of my hairline

Bro, if you're able to make it to 35 with that hair it's success man. You know your hair health better than me, if you say it's been like that for years I take ur word over mine.. also I feel like black guys get away with thinning easily due to their hair texture, recession on a black guy looks horrible though so you dodged a bullet.

LOOL, well its definitely thinning but not as aggressive as it looks. And I agree if it gets too bad Ill just save it bald. I would potentially consider FUE in the future but the Doctor said I am no where near that and I shouldn't consider it.

Hello, do you have hair loss (that you see), how does your hair looks long (can you see a balding area).

Do you have older pictures (15).
