Hi guys, could you tell me what norwood you think I'm at and any treatment you could recommend, I have noticed only recession at the temples for a couple of years now and no real thinning or bald spots, but have always been reluctant to seek advice until now, would be great to have some advice

would help if you provided dry pictures.

Looks like you're balding. Temple points, and temples are slowly receding back.

Time to get on finasteride.

I agree with the above poster. It looks like the beginnings of male pattern baldness, and you should start Finasteride.

Finasteride should stop any further loss, and may also regrow some of the temple loss you already have. Also, you should get your hands on some Nizoral shampoo, although it is much less important in your regimen than Finasteride.

There's no need to add Minoxidil in your case, since you are only a NW2. Finasteride and Nizoral shampoo should do the trick for you.

finasteride + minoxidil 5% liquid + nizoral 1% or 2% shampoo (only use this one twice weekly)

finasteride is the most important by far

I only recommend minoxidil because it looks like u have a lot of diffuse thinning

Based on that picture you'e a NW3. The temple recession looks quite deep.

looks fine. I have some advice for styling. Ask your hairdresser to do a mid fade. Here is some examples of it, which look good on diffuse thinners or those with diffusing temples:

I like it blended well (with little contrast between the different hair length areas)
Also I ask them specifically to blend the thin areas with the thick areas the best they can.

Wear your hair combed back and to the side, (like diaganolly) over one temple. The other temple will be a little exposed, try combing the hair behind this temple forward over it in a reasonable way which will at least cover some of it.

Wouldn't go that far myself, looks like a nice NW2 to me. Pretty well defined temple recession there, looks like a "mature hairline" at this point aesthetically, though it's evident in this case we're talking about male pattern baldness.

OP should be fine on Finasteride + nizoral. minoxidil can be added later, but I wouldn't say there's that much to gain for it to be worth the minoxidil hassle. Maintaining with modest regrowth (finasteride) would be optimal.

Also, I think your hair looks good, so buzzing isn't necessary yet unless you just wanna buzz it anyway.

Thank you, im not looking to go back to a NW1 id ideally like to regrow to a NW2 with a bit more of a fuller hairline, as wind and rain make it look awful at the moment, I will see the doctor and hopefully get on meds asap before it gets worse
