Hi, my family has a history of losing hair fairly early is this usual or not for a 18 year old?

No problem, I'll let some of the other guys here post their opinion but I think you're probably fine. As long as you haven't noticed a lot of hair fall I wouldn't worry.

Looks a bit thin, but hard to tell without earlier pics. If you aren´t shedding more than usual I would say you are fine.
