Been on minoxidil for the past 3 months, shedding seems to have stablise,, but why isn't there any sign of regrowth.. I am so afraid, that the process might just stop without any regrowth... :( :(

I would not have started on minoxidil but you did so stoping now if just make you shed more hair. Try propecia for one year with minoxidil and see if that will work. You may want to use Nizoral with that.

It is unlikely that 'the process might just stop' when using just minoxidil.

The more likely outcome is you will see a little regrowth initially (that is in the first 12-24 months) then the balding proccess will continue as you are not doing anything to stop the DHT atrophying those follicles that are genetically predisposed to be affected by DHT in this way.

3 months is too early to make a judgement on a hair loss medications efficacy.

I would look into adding Propecia into your regimen. Give it a one-two punch and hopefully, in time, you can maitain what you have up top.

Minoxidil's purpose is to act like a growth stimulant. Propecia inhibits 5AR, which converts Testosterone into DHT. Minoxidil will halt the process until DHT builds up causing the inflammation that eventually leads to hairloss. However, propecia will not work forever so eventually the inflammation and process wins out in the end. Propecia will do better for maintaining your current hair, at least for awhile.

Minoxidil is a growth stimulator, it will stimulate some regrowth of scalp hair.

The reason you used minoxidil in the first place was because you became aware that your hair was thinning/receding, this is caused by DHT attacking the hair follicle. This attack unless delt with will continue, minoxidil has no effect on scalp serum DHT levels.

Imagine your prize flower garden is being attacked by some chemical or poison in the soil, you see the plants wilting, so you start to water them more, they respond and perk up a bit, but because you have not cleaned the soil up they will evetually die.
