Before I start, im certainly not making an anti nizoral post. In fact I think its a decent tool, especially in the early stages of hair loss.

But I was just wondering if anyone here had recovered from serious nizoral thinning? Not actually physically losing hair, but making it extremely thin and almost transparent. Its my own fault for overusing it and leaving it on too long. But is there a chance your hair can eventually recover? Ive heard it could be 6 plus months if it does get any better? Thanks.

The active ingredient in Nizoral shampoo, which is Ketoconazole, can cause a shedding. Your hair should recover. Nizoral is a very harsh shampoo and even though it does help with hair loss, it's not designed for that purpose. If you want to use a Ketoconazole shampoo that's much friendlier to the hair and scalp, try using Regenepure DR, it contains 1% Ketoconazole just like Nizoral.

Thank you for the reply Agustin. Yeah, I realise how harsh it can be if overused! Guess its just a waiting game now.

I've used Nizoral before. I no longer use it because it was drying to my hair and scalp. Regenepure DR is much better, it has water and aloe vera gel as its main base ingredients, along with being 1% Ketoconazole. It also has other good ingredients in it to help fight inflammation. I strongly recommend to switch over to Regenepure DR, it's seriously one of the best Ketoconazole shampoos readily available. I use it daily.

yeah i think i had the same thing but i think i recovered after i stopped using it
