Nizoral 2% not working... what next?

Nizoral 2% doesn't seem to be working as well for me these days, with my scalp being itchy a lot and also producing a lot of sebum.

I've managed to control the sebum production a little with upping my finasteride intake to 2mg a day, and also using nizoral every day.

However today I didn't use it and my scalp is quite greasy again. So much so that 2 inches below my hairline is bone dry (actually too dry) and anything above greasy to touch.

So what can I do? I've searched for nizoral 4% shampoo but that doesn't seem to be available, and the itchy/greasyness of my scalp isn't nice.

Like I said nizoral every day seems to work ok, but i dont think its good for my hair to use it every day?

My shampoo goes like this:
T-Gel > nizoral 1% > Nioxin Cleanser > Nioxin Scalp Therapy.

I don't recall having a super greasy scalp before I started on this battle, but most of us balding people struggle with it....and (if that's true) this routine has kept that away for me.

High doses Vitamin A and B5 are the only things that can really reduce sebum significantly. Topicals things won't do a f*ck :)

I'm sure I read somewhere that high doses of them are bad for you though?

I've to use Nizoral 2% once a day, to keep seborrheic dermatitis under control (sebum makes this condition worse) - and I've been doing so for a long time. I'm exposing the scalp for 1 - 3 minutes depending on symptoms. I may stretch it to 4 minutes on occasions, but never more than that. I usually only expose the scalp for one minute.

There are even people here using nizoral 2% TWICE a day for so long without any problem.

I'm pretty sure the guidelines are not to use it more than 3times a week, so if you exceed that you'll be putting yourself in the line of side effects like itchy scalp.

Try using less nizoral per application ?

Just cut down on the exposure time.
