hi, i just registered with this website after visiting it only a couple times b/c it looks to be helpful. i got over the fact that joining a "club" such as this is considered uncool to some. i used rogaine about a year ago when my girlfriend pointed out that i was thinning on top. that lasted about 3 1/2 months and only made things worse. i am now trying nizoral 2% and am seeing signs of thinness. i dont know if it is like rogaine meaninging you may first lose hair before it starts really helping. if anyone could help me i really would appreciate it!

Nizoral alone will do you nothing good. Get on Finasteride as well - at least!

Nizoral does not make your hair fall out, it is a mild anti-androgen (ketoconazole)

get back on Rogaine and ride it out

get on propecia

continue with Nizoral

If you're going to treat male pattern baldness, you can't get on a treatment for a few months, then jump to a new treatment, etc. You have to get on a treatment program and stay with it for at least six months. It is common to shed at first, which makes it seem like your situation is only getting worse, but shedding is normal and temporary. The hairs shed grow back. You quit minoxidil just when it was likely starting to do some good.
