Nioxin? or Nizoral?

Im currently 17 years old. Been using Minoxidil 5% liquid form for 4 months. Results havent been there, i think, my shedding process is starting to decrease now . I have been nizorial, but i dont think its helping. I came across a brand that many people have told me about called nioxin. Has anyone heard of it? its a shamppoo that eliminates DHT on scale and helps increase hair density in 9/10 people. Im wondering if i should use this shampoo as apposed to nizoral. i asked my dermatolgist, he said nizoral is probably the best shampoo to use, but doesnt help either. what should i do? should i use nioxin? can i use both?

you can use both but you wont get any results from just shampoos.

nioxin is not nearly as effective as nizoral 2% or nizoral 1%. nioxin will just make your hair feel good but nizoral has some anti androgenic properties that can block dht from your head

ketocozanole is the main ingredient in nizoral which blocks dht. but dont get it twisted because nizoral shampoo as the sole treatment for hairloss will get you nowhere but being bald.

you need to add other treatments such as growth stimulants and more potent anti androgens or dht blockers such as propecia.

be careful of the side effects though. if side effects continue then stop use or talk to your doctor.

Given the fact that you're still 17 I'd think twice before adding propecia (which I'm guessing you have had a think about)

Nioxin isn't very good. It can clean your hair but is missing a lot of ingredients you'd want in your hair.

I use both. I find that the nioxin conditioner leaves my hair smoother with more body. I've been using Nioxin for the last 8 years, and I don't plan on stopping any time soon.

Yeah, my dermatologist said propecia wouldnt be good because im still going through growth and it can interfer with sex drive. So using nioxin and nizoral would work out? i would like to use Nixoin and nizoral not sure what i should do though.
I use nizoral twice a week, on all the other days, would nioxin be good? Also, i heard you need to use a ton of nioxin products to see any results. Whats the shortest amount of time it will take befor ei see some results from nioxin?

To rephase..

may i use nioxin and nizoral?
how long will it take for nixoin to take affect?
What results should i expect?

Also, im at the stage where only 2-4 hairs will be left on my hands in the shower daily.

Use them both.

Don't worry about it if you're just getting a few hair on your hand. Check for hairs in the hair-catch in the tub, if anything.

That's good. Your body goes through cycle shedding as well so you're going to lose 50 to 100 hairs regardless each days. However, all hair is supposed to regrow. The problem with us is even if we correct the issue with an Anti Androgen and Growth Stimulant, the actual hair follicle maybe dead to the point the hair will not regrow. However, the science and past examples do show that any hair that you lost "could" grow back but it's more likely that you'll keep your current hair rather than gain new hairs.
