Hello. I am 42 years old. I have been using propecia for about 10 years and minoxidil for almost 15 years. I always tried to get ahead of the curve to stall the genetic predisposition of baldness in the family. Over the past year, I have noticed that my hair is starting to thin and recede at a pace not previously seen, so I assume that the propecia is losing its effectiveness. Please look at the pictures and let me know your thoughts on my norwood scale. Thanks!

oh please, u have great hair for a 42 yr old, i would say ur a Norwood 1, which means ur end point will be a Norwood 1, so ur entire life u will go from nw0 to nw1. it could also be called a mature hairline.

keep doin wat ur doing and live ur life.

unless theres crown thinning, which u dont have a picture for, some people keep the hairline and lose there crown.

i would have thought NW2.

Nizoral 2% shampoo slows down the progress of hair loss, it works well with propecia and minoxidil. it may be all that you need to keep on top of hair loss. when i started using Nizoral it really dried out my hair - i found coconut oil to be a very good moisturizer alternatively a high quality conditioner can counter the dryness.

I will dance a freakin JIG if I have that hair when I'm 42!! Not everyone has Brad Pitt's freakish NW1 hairline into their 40s.

Norwood 2 has that definate square shape to the front, his is a very wide triangle, i definately think its no worse than nw1

but we all have our own opinions.
