(newbie Needs Advice) Should I Start Medication Already?

Hi,
21 year old dude here with some recession on temples. I recently went to a doctor, who really couldn't say anything bout my hair but gave me a regime for finasteride. I'm still a bit hesitant to start it because I've heard bad things. I'm thinking this is male pattern baldness but just to be sure I decided to post here. How bad does it look?

Yes you definitely have male pattern baldness. You're approaching a Norwood 3. It is entirely your choice whether you want to take the finasteride and save your hair, or not take it due to the possibility of side-effects and continue to go bald naturally.

Good decision my friend . I'd put you between a Nw2 and Nw3. Finasteride can be expected to stop any further loss, with a good chance of getting some regrowth.
