Hy all,
After reading a lot of posts and finding a lot of useful information, I decided to share my experiences with you.
First of all I want to thank you for giving me confidence to carry on my regime
Please excuse my bad english.
Here's my story:
I am 25, male. About a year ago, I noticed that my hair was thinning, when I woke up in the morning, my pillow was covered with hairs.
I then decided it was time to do something, as my father is completely bald and all males in my mom's family lost their hair around the age of 25.
So I decided for Propecia (1mg / 1x daily) and Rogaine (2%). Nizoral 3 times / week.
I am not sure if I ever experienced shedding, as I lost a lot of hair, but according to my girlfriend, I stopped losing hair approx. after 3 months.
I naturally have very thin hair, so it is difficult to see the progress. In addition, I cut my hair back to 4mm when starting the regime. This makes it more difficult to see the progress.
So now I am in month 9, and a bit confused;
The good message:
I can definitely say that my crown / vertex has regrown hairs and it really looks better than ever
So it seems to work, in this area.
As for the frontal / mid scalp area, I am not so sure if it works; my hairline seems very thin, and when the sun is shining, I can see my scalp.
I couldn't tell if there's any progress in regrowth, although I find my hair looks somehow...healthier & stronger.
So here's what's troubling me:
I am currently losing more hairs (approx. 80-100/day, maybe less) than I did the last months, these hairs are thin, and the top has an obviousliy bigger diameter than the (very small) root.
-Could this be normal shedding? How often does shedding happen?
(Maybe it's because the summer's coming, and it's normal. What do you think?)
-When I stand in front of the mirror and examining my scalp/hair; I can see some very small hairs (1-2cm) growing on my frontal scalp. they look like a newborn's hair, maybe a bit stronger. Is this a positive sign?
I heard that, despite the official information, propecia & rogaine DO also
work on the frontal scalp, how big are the chances of regrowing hair in this area?
At the moment, I feel pretty down about the way I look, and it keeps my mind going every day...
But it really helped me to see that others have the same problems and I am not overreacting.
Maybe someone can answer my questions or give me advice!!
I wish us all good luck!
Cheers,
Surferosa
