Would you guys be interested in a combination Finasteride 0.25% plus Spironolactone 5% cream for topical use?

Bryan - any opinions on whether this would be the best way to do it? Is 0.25% insufficient, overkill, or just right?

Would mixing them be logical?

Feedback appreciated.

We wouldn't be offering it but would find someone who could.

ide be absolutely interested in that product

as long as its in the price range of s5 regular topical spironolactone or just slightly more

0.25% seems kinda low but i cant back that with any logical reasoning

i would assume you would need to get in the 2% range

but lets see what bryan has to say

"your the best bryan"

Very interested

So long as the conc. of finasteride isn't just the equivelent as just taking 1mg orally. - In terms of absorbion etc.

I have no idea what the price would be yet, but I have a feeling it would be noticeably higher than spironolactone 5% alone, which I think Lee sells for what .... $35? Guess it depends how much it costs to make it.

As for potential for side effects, Bryan can probably comment on that too.

I don't have any strong opinions about it one way or the other, because as I've been pointing out for years on hairloss sites, the results of topical finasteride studies have been all over the map. Sometimes it seems to work as intended, sometimes it doesn't seem to work at all. Sometimes it gets absorbed systemically, sometimes it doesn't get absorbed at all. With such conflicting results, it's impossible to know what to really make of topical finasteride.

A concentration of 0.25% would probably be more than sufficient. An early study by some well-known doctors in the hairloss field used a concentration of only 0.05%, and found a serum DHT reduction of about 40% or so (which obviously was a clear sign of systemic absorption). Unfortunately, there was no effect on hair growth in their test subjects.

Bryan, as always, thank you for your invaluable input. Sounds like the folks making this product have got it going.

Right now they are evaluating how stable it stays in the current solution, over time.

If all goes well, it should be available by June 1.

Bryan just a few questions I don't think you ever gave a clear answer on...

1) Was the use of finasteride for hairloss an accidental discovery?
2) Do I have to use minoxidil and Retin-A at the same time?
3) And finally, does washing my skin make it produce more sebum?

Cassin is mixing it up in his kitchen. He discovered it one day while leaving it in the back seat of his car. It had warmed up from the sun, and he put it on his head and voila. He's going to call it HairLossTalk.com-19.

Yeah I would definitely be interested. I've been looking for a finasteride/spironolactone topical. Does this still have a chance of getting off the ground?
