I am 30 years old and have slowy been losing hair for about 8 years. With that said
I still have quite a bit and want to keep it, as well as grow back what I have lost.
male pattern baldness does run in the family.

I have a receding hairline on both left and right side but more loss on the left side and always itching along the left side of my hairline. Anyways, I saw Dr. Lewengerg's website and gave it a try. I am going to stop using because it burns my scalps and causes the skin on my forehead peel off. Never use this with Nioxin shampoo or your scalp will burn like hell.

Gonna try propecia. Is there a cheaper equivalent?
Also how about Xandrax15? 15% Minoxidal
Which shampoos do you reccomend? Four years ago I had a bad case of psoriasis but it went away. Cannot remeber the shampoo I used for it.

I will post pictueres of where I am right now.

I need advice
Thanks,

Bad news, the itching means you do have male pattern baldness. Itchy scalp = immune system attacking your hair follicles from DHT aka a "byproduct" for lack of better word of testosterone.

Screw propecia, its overpriced and there is better stuff out there that is also way cheaper!

Dutastride. Go buy it at http://www.inhousepharmacy.com. Do not get advodart, get the cheap Dutas generic. It works. (edit: forgot to tell you dosages hehe. Take 0.5 mg of dutastride daily on a full or empty stomach)

Get Nizoral shampoo. Rogaine foam twice a day.

stay a while, read. all your questions have been covered many times but i'll get you started.

Propecia is a brand name of finasteride. it is 1mg/daily. it's not cheap.
You can buy Proscar (5mg finasteride), or equivalent, and cut the pills into smaller pieces (usually 1/4s = 1.25g finasteride). you'll need a perscription for that. and it should cost you about 1/4 the amount of propecia.

i would recommend the rogaine foam, it's 5% minoxidil. but of course you can chose your own minoxidil, but the foam is easy for application to the hairline.

it seems everyone here recommends nozoral 1 or 2%, 3 times weekly.

so finaseride, minoxidil, nizoral = THE BIG 3.

p.s. Ignore "naturalsists" or other herb or vitiman pushers. Ignore scalp exercises and other garbage.

All of the amazing success stories backed up with photos are from the use of drugs and minoxidil.

*flaps wrists* Haven't you heard silly? Finastride is so last year. 8)

Dutastride is the shizzle. I have read about 5 quality scientific reports that shows this. I am convinced.

Dutastride

Do you need a prescriprtion for dutastride?

Do you know a generic brand name for it?

I have seen Nizoral 1% but do you need a prescription for Nizoral 2%?

I appreciate the feedback. This forumn is very informative.

Thanks,

Dutasteride is new to this world, no generic brand names. Patent violating generics from India are available.

Ordering over the 'net (if it's from a pharmacy in a different country) means you won't need a prescription. I've heard about generic dutasteride being seized at customs though.

I order my Avodart from www. elite net pharmacy. com and have also ordered Proscar from there. Both time no problems, shipped from the UK to Canada. Excellent prices.

So plan should be Dutas
Nizoral 2% two or three times a week
What should be the other shampoo in the other 4 to 5 days?
and Rogaine foam

What about Xandrax15: 15% minoxidil

Has one tried or know of anyone that has used 15% minoxidil?

Just curious

do comparative research between finasteride and dutasteride and chose what's best for you. people on here will tell you whatever the hell they think is right, and face it no one knows what is or isn't right when it comes to treating male pattern baldness.

the people telling you to get on dutasteride are people taking it themselves. the side effects are alot more common with dutasteride, and since it hasn't been around for very long there is no telling how long the side effects last. some people are reporting years after stopping treatment, still being impotent. i'm not trying to scare you, but the drug is not even approved as a hair loss treatment whereas finasteride has been for almost 10 years. you can join this dutasteride fanclub and order it online if you wish, because no doctor in the right mind will perscribe it for you as a hair loss drug.

there is no reason to jump on the most potent treatments around. some people here have had success with the most simple regimens. if you have a possibly cancerous tumor do they remove it and analyze it first, or do they just put you on chemotherapy to be safe? (i honestly hope you know the answer to that). you said you are losing hair slowly, doesn't sound like the tale of a man who NEEDS dutasteride and 15% minoxidil to me.

World of Warcraft, two weeks ago you were telling every newcommer to "get on finasteride as soon as possible". now it's dutasteride. after reading a few articles you are going to change the advice you give everyone? you can f*** around with whatever drugs you want, and give none of them a chance to work. i don't care. but have some common sense when giving advice.

I agree with the statements of Diet Cola.

I'd also like to add that you will have to experiment with products on your own and see what works for you for yourself. What works for someone else, may not work for you, and vice-versa. The Big 3 though are some of the best and proven treatments. So jumping on at least 2 would be key I'd say. And there are alternatives to using Propecia and dutasteride that you can look into. Try to read the forum as much as you can and come up with your own decision.

yup that's my stance exactly. i'm not even entirely pro-finasteride, i havn't been on it long enough to see any results at all. just want people to do enough research to decide what is best for them, playing with hormones is pretty serious, you should at least know what you're getting into.

Itching can ce a sign ot only for hairlostt, your itching might be caused due to seborea or seboreic dermatitis! do yo uhave oily flaky skin?
WOW: The immune attack part is correct, but you can't say for sure it's due to the male pattern baldness...
