Hey all.
When I was 18 my hair was thick like a toilet brush, but then the front started to go. This bothered me, but not half as much as the top thinning does, which is now the case at the grand old age of 23. My Grandfather on my Mother's side has fully bald at age 21 so I think the thickness of my hair has bought me a few years, but is still doomed to die!
I have bought:
12 months supply 5% Minoxidil (Kirkland) - After one application my head is tingling and I think I will apply this every evening before bed.
1 pack of finasteride 5mg - Due to potential side effects my intention is to take 0.5mg per day (I realise this will be a guess as the tablets crumble when cut up!).
2 bottles of Nizorale shampoo - Will use once a week.
Here are some pictures of me after taking my first day of 'treatment'. Taking photos in the mirror with the light on looks awful and my camera phone makes it look better than it is.

I am looking for general help and pointers. My only real concerns are about Finasteride side effects. I want to take the minimum dose possible, which from what I have read online can be far lower than 1mg. I have never been diagnosed with anything but I am a general worrier and surely have some level of OCD so I just want to take the smallest dose I can get away with
. Most of my knowledge has come from the Spexhair videos .
