I'm 22 years old with a receding hairline. I first noticed it about 1 year ago and it hasn't gotten to bad but I don't want it to get any worse. It seems like I shed quit a bit but I have long hair so it might just seem like a lot. I don't notice any thinning but again it might not be noticeable due to having long hair. I've done some research and I think the receding is due to dht (I'm on trt). After doing a lot of research I've decided I am not willing to try any oral medication due to the possible side effects. I'd rather go bald than loose my libido. I started using an organic shampoo called Avalon Organics Thickening Shampoo about 1 month ago. It contains saw palmetto and has no sodium lauryl or laureth sulfate. I haven't noticed any difference from the regular cheap shampoo I've been using. I looked into minoxidil and found that it only works for a few years. I'm thinking about trying nizoral. Here are a few questions I have:

1) Would this alone help with a receding hairline?
2) Should I get 1% or 2%?
3) How many days per week do I use it?
4) Where is a good source to buy it from?
5) Should I still use the organic shampoo or just regular cheap shampoo like vo5?
6) Any side effects or reason I shouldn't try this regimin?

Sorry for the long post guys, any help would greatly be appreciated.

Don't be scared by the nutjobs telling you that Finasteride will cause you to go impotent. Only a very small percentage of men get side effects and they usually go away once your body has adjusted to the drug.

Nizoral on its own is unlikely to stop male pattern baldness - it's best used with proven hairloss treatments.

1) :woot: - no.
2) 2%
3) 3/4 - if your hair gets too dry then cut down.
4) depends where you are. chemists in the uk.
5) The best to use with it is nano imo.
6) No

I'm on a tight budget right now so I don't think I could afford Finasteride anyways.
What is nano?
I forgot to mention I'm not that concerned about regrowing hair. I just don't want it to get worse. You still don't think nizoral alone could stop it? I'm trying to do what I can with not much money.
