Hello all,
After some experimenting, I've finally decided to make a commitment and do something about my hair loss, and I'm looking for some opinions on what I'm doing.

Basically, I'm using Rogaine Foam and Nizoral. I've decided against Propecia because of the sexual sides effects - it's just a risk I'm not willing to take.

I don't have any pics, but the best way to describe my thinning is that it's all over the top of my head, with a more profuse thinning on the crown and temples. What I'm doing with the foam is putting a recommended dose on the crown, and then putting another dose on the front of my head. My theory is that the recommended dose is only for the crown, so I need to put extra on the front to get the full effect (and I've heard so many people here say Rogaine works on the front as well, despite the instructions). Could I just put one dose all over the head, or does my theory make sense?

In the past, I experimented with 2% liquid, and it made my scalp really itchy without the Nizoral. Since I've started using the foam, I've been putting on Nizoral every day, despite the directions. Is this a good idea?

Also, I'm taking a medication for ADHD called VyVanse. Has anyone heard of ADHD medication not mixing well with Rogaine?

All the help I could get would be greatly appreciated. It feels good to finally have some place to go to talk about this. I'm 25, and I started noticing the thinning when I was 23. It's been killing me ever since.

well the foam and nizoral are great but your still gona need a good dht blocker if you ever wana win the war, i kno you said your scared of propcia cuz of sexual issues but ive been on 6 months or so almost 7 and im just as horney as i was b4 i started. i dont think anyone on this board with knowledge of hair loss will say any different long term if you wana win the war your going to need to block dht.

yes you must use either propecia or avodart or accept losing your hair.
In my experience they don't effect your sex drive 1 bit possibly raise it if anything

Sorry if I offended anyone using Propecia. I've just heard about all kinds of crazy things from this forum and other places. Specifically here, someone was talking about how their sperm turned to liquid. That's probably a one-in-a-million case, I don't think that would happen if I took the pill. Also, you're both probably right about getting better results. It's just a choice that I've made, and that's that, plus I'm already on a prescription med.

Anyway, what do you think of the way I'm using Rogaine and Nizoral?

see the problem here is that there is millions of people that take propecia and any side affect they get they will blame it on the drug. i think your chances of any side affect is real low if i was in your shoes i would give propecia a shot for 6 months and see how you feel.

your rogaine foam and nizoral are great 2/3rds of the battle. i think with those 2 you could gain a bit.
