Need some advice, just got finasteride.

Ok i just got back from the doctor, got Finasteride 5mg pills (the doctor called it Proscar but on the packing it just says Finasteride)

It are little circular blue pills. I'm wondering in how many parts i should cut them to start? Maybe in 5 so i have exactly 1mg a day or in 4 so i have 1,25mg a day?

I heard people use a 'pill cutter' i don't have one but i can probaly buy one at the pharmacy. What do you guys use to cut ur pills?

Also i want to add Minoxidil aswell, i have a 100ML bottle minoxidil that i only used once, however, it is 10 months expired now, is it still safe to use ??

Hi.
Try doing them in 5's for the recommended dosage plus it lasts longer aswell.
Cut a small edge off the pill approx 1 5th with a sharpe knife then cut the remaining big piece in a X shape so you get 5 pieces in total.

Would you eat a things that are 10 months past used by date? They have that on them for a reason. Maybe the active ingrediant loses potency over time.
It is possible it will be ok to use, but why bother risking it when you can pick up 100ml for about £8 or $12.

I would get a pill cutter from the pharmacy and split the pill into quarters (4 pieces with around 1.25 mg in each). Anything more than that gets difficult and messy. I am surprised that your doctor didn't tell you how to cut/use the finasteride.

I would not use the expired minoxidil. There's a reason for the expiration date and it has probably lost its effectiveness.

Get a pill splitter it cost around 4-10$ and here's a good way to cut your pills http://drugster.info/img/drug/proscar-19440_3.jpg the pill is very easy to cut 5's and I even cut my 5's to half so I can get 0.5mg dose and I would say even that is fairly easy.
