Need some advice for my situation

I chose to give Nizoral 2% another shot, and started again a few days ago. However, I found the same issue I had previously - a significantly high number of hairs come out on my hands when washing it out after 5 minutes. How can I determine if this is shedding or some kind of adverse reaction to the stuff? The hairs are not all really thin and light colored, over half of them are fairly dark, normal, full length hairs. I'd say at least 20 come out.

I tried an experiment to discover the exact number, I waited til I got out of the shower and washed the nizoral out over a strainer in the sink using a couple cups of warm water I pour over my head slowly to wash it out. This concludes that despite not applying any pressure in rubbing it out, the hairs still come out. It might possibly be due to the friction of rubbing it in, but I would think more hairs would be on my hands after rubbing it in if that was that case.

Anyway, I'm torn - I really want to hinder my hairloss slightly more than just with Propecia pills, and this is the easiest way to add something else. I don't, however want to accelerate the hair loss if it's not gonna help. Could nizoral actually cause hair to fall out which isn't a shed?

If it were simply shedding, exactly how long does it usually last, and do shed hairs really look healthy and dark?

How many hairs typically come out in a shed, and does is mostly take place during the application and rinse?

Lastly, does 1% do anything? Could the 2% just be too strong, and I should look into 1%?

The nizoral is not causing the shed. These hairs would've fell out regardless of what shampoo you use. The minuturization and shedding of hair takes months and would not be instantly triggered by using a certain shampoo.

Nizoral can slightly help male pattern baldness, so use it!

I don't shed those hairs when I use my normal shampoo

If you have male pattern baldness I would be surprised if no hairs came out when you shower with any shampoo.

20 hairs seems about normal even if you dont have male pattern baldness.

TS -

i find 2% nizoral EXTREMELY rough on my hair too - to a point i avoid it

Solution - use the 1%. Apparently its pretty much as effective and its much easier on the hair - in fact it makes my hair nice and fluffy

Let me know how you get on :)
